We invite you to join NIFI, in order to strengthen our collaborations and bring in more voices to our work. NIFI is a non-profit organization counting on tax-exempt memberships and donations. Membership is open to organizations, associations, farms, farmers and individuals.
Why Join National Immigrant Farming Initiative (NIFI)?
Members of National Immigrant Farming Initiative believe we should:
- Stand in solidarity with refugee and immigrant farmers and the organizations that serve these farmers.
- Work together to promote just livelihoods for farmers.
- Value and honor diversity in people, cultures, and ways of knowing.
- Sustain the natural resources upon which we depend. Farming practices should protect and enhance the land and the surrounding environment.
- Create opportunity through unity and inclusion. The long-term self-sufficiency of refugee and immigrant farmers depends on access to services and resources.
- Advocate and increase the visibility of underserved and underrepresented farmers so they have a voice.
Two types of membership in National Immigrant Farming Initiative are:
ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERS
Groups that represent immigrant and refugee farmers and farm workers in transition to becoming farmers as part of their organization mission or goals.
ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBER benefits:
- Receive one vote per organization.
- Eligible for NIFI sponsored training, mentoring, technical support, and relevant information.
- Logo and description of your work can be listed on NIFI’s website.
INDIVIDUAL MEMBER
Immigrant and refugee farmers and individuals who directly support them.
INDIVIDUAL MEMBER benefits:
- Individual members of NIFI are eligible for one vote as a group.
- Eligible for NIFI sponsored training, mentoring, technical support, and relevant information.
- Name can be listed on NIFI’s website.

Organizations are asked to pay annual dues based on their annual budget.
INDIVIDUAL MEMBER (Friends of NIFI)
Immigrant and refugee farmers and individuals who directly support them. We ask for a minimum donation of $5. Please click on the donation button below. You'll be taken to a secure payment page where you can enter the amount you wish to donate. Friends of NIFI together cast one vote.
